Warning letters after streaming porn!
Warnings and letters from the lawyer
It was a huge wave of warnings that broke over many Internet users: A law firm sent out approximately 43,000 warning letters to users of the erotic website Redtube – by mail to home, without prior warning. The allegation: Users have allegedly committed copyright infringement by streaming sex videos.
The law firm asked interested parties to sign a declaration of cease and desist and pay a fine of about $300 to the legal owners. Many users paid, probably for fear of litigation.
Without warning – 43.000 warning letters sent by post
Must I pay in the case of a warning?
This legal question cannot be answered with a comprehensive “yes” or “no”, because the streaming of movies and music is a legal grey area. Streamed movies are not stored, or only briefly stored, on the computer of the user. Opinions differ as to whether this constitutes unauthorized duplication or not. Specialist lawyers advise, due to the controversial situation in the case of streaming, not to pay fines or fees blindly upon receiving warnings, but to seek legal advice. This can cost some people money.
Tip: A good VPN server, e.g. from our No.1 VPN, can protect you from expensive warnings!
Unclear legal situation: Further warnings cannot be ruled out
Protect yourself!
If you want to save on expensive legal fees and want to stream on the Internet without any worries, you should use a VPN (virtual private network). With a VPN, you will browse the Internet completely anonymously, because the VPN software encrypts your Internet connection. In addition, the traffic is managed through a VPN server. Thus, website operators will never see your real IP address, but only the IP address of the VPN server. Your anonymity is guaranteed, and waves of warnings will not hit you as it did those unfortunate RedTube users.
Clever: VPN software is very easy to use; they can be activated with a single click.
Easy protection: VPN helps you to surf safely.
